Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the deformation and cracking of the captioned electrode obtained by fixing the electrode tip obtained by packing tip body blank in a holding ring made of metal and sintering the same and prevent the zinc deposition at the welding of galvanized steel plates. CONSTITUTION:Particles of W, Mo or their alloy together with a binder, if necessary, are packed in a holding ring 24, as a die, of SUS630 steel or the like being precipitation hardening type stainless steel and the entire part is heated while being pressed from the axis direction, whereby the tip body 25 sintered with metal particles is fitted integrally with the ring 24 to form an electrode tip 21. The end protruding part of this tip 21 is press-fitted into the annular groove 26 formed to the end part of the electrode body 22 composed of copper or copper alloy, whereby the electrode for spot welding is constituted.
