Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:4-Aminopyridopyrimidine of formula I and its salt [X is lower alkylene; Y is phenyl or II (Z is O or S; R is lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, or halogen; n is an integer of 0W3)].
USE: An agricultural and horticultural germicide effective to a wide variety of parasitic bacteria and molds such as rice blast bacteria, and effective to various noxious insects in soil and algal fungi. It is also effective as a repellent for larvae of, e.g. cabbage armyworm.
PROCESS: The objective compound I is prepared by reacting a compound III or IV with a compound V, pref. in a solvent, in the presence of a base.
