Abstract
PURPOSE: To remove the above mentioned impurities without losing copper, by adding basic antimony sulfate (bismuth) to copper electrolyte containing As and Sb or Bi as impurities under heating and separating produced precipitation.
CONSTITUTION: In order to remove the impurities, such as As, Sb, Bi etc., accumulated in copper electrolytic solution composed of sulfuric acid acidic solution being free sulfuric acid concentration 700g/l or less, a suitable amount of Sb4SO9.mH2O (m=0.3W1.3) or Bi2S2O9.nH2O (n=1W3) is added after heating of the solution to 50°C or higher and formed precipitate is separated. For example, sufficient effect is able to have by adding 3g/l or more of each compound in case of being solution temperature 90°C. particle of formed white precipitate is coarse and easy to separate because of its superior filtrating property.
