Abstract

PURPOSE: To automatically open a motor circuit when a large current is flown through the motor by differentially winding voltage and current coils on an electromagnet for attracting a magnetic contact connected to the push-button of a switch and connecting the current coil in series with the motor.
CONSTITUTION: When a tongue 10 is urged to its ON position by a button 3, a contact 4 is brought into contact with a contact 5 and an electric current is thereby flown through a voltage coil 7. Since a magnetic contact 2 is largely spaced from an electromagnet 6, it is not magnetically attracted to the electromagnet 6. Inasmuch as the magnetic contact 2 approaches the electromagnet 6 at the position where the contact 2 may be magnetically attracted to the electromagnet 6 when the tongue 10 is urged to its holding position, the contact 2 is held in contact with the electromagnet 6 so that the motor 1 continues its rotation. When a large current flows through the motor 1, the electromagnet 6 is reversely energized by the current coil 8 wound differentially on the electromagnet 6 from the voltage coil 7 to thereby cancel the energization of the voltage coil 7. Thus, the contact 2 is opened from the electromagnet 6, and the motor 1 is thus stopped.
