Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the title high-purity compound industrially advantageously, for use as a drug of a gastric ulcer, by dialyzing a solution of an aluminum salt of N-acetyl-L-glutamine with a high polymer membrance of hollow-fibers.
CONSTITUTION: An aqueous solution of an aluminum salt of N-acetyl-L-glutamine (GAL) having an water-soluble admixture is dialysed by means of a dialyzer with a high polymer membrane of hollow-fibers (e.g., polyvinyl alcohol, nylon, polyester, etc.), preferably at a flow rate per area of the nembrane of 0.01W100l/h/m2, at a concentration of GAL of 5W50wt% in a pH range of the test solution of 3W7, at 10W50°C so that GAL is purified. Low-molecular weight admixtures, e.g., sodium chloride, sodium sulfate, etc. are dialyzed easier through the high polymer membrane and move to the water side, and GAL remains in the solution and can be separated from the admixtures.
