Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a constant level of ultrasonic wave transmitting to a inspected object by providing an ultrasonic flaw detecting system having a flaw detecting main transducer disposed on the central axis of the flaw detecting and an auxiliary transducer disposed so as not to interfere with the signal from the main transducer.
CONSTITUTION: A flaw detecting main transducer 9 having a spherical lower face 8 for contact with an inspected object 7 is disposed on the axis of the flaw detecting head. Auxiliary transducers 10, 11 of the transmitting and receiving sides for the monitoring purpose have resonance frequencies which are different from that of the main transducer 9. These auxiliary transducers 10, 11 are so orientated that the monitoring signal does not interfere with the flaw detecting signal from the main transducer 9. Assuming here that a sine wave curve signal 12 is transmitted, the signal is reflected by the lower face 8 and is then received. The main transducer 9 is excited when a predetermined level of the monitoring signal is reached, so that the level of the ultrasonic wave transmitted through the inspection object 7 can be maintained constant.
