Abstract
PURPOSE: To treat the titled waste gas economically and efficiently by a method wherein the waste gas is washed with a caustic soda water solution, heavy metal ions, vitriolic ions, etc. are removed from brine formed, the brine is electrolyzed, caustic soda formed is circulated and reused.
CONSTITUTION: Waste gas from an incinerator 1 and a caustic soda water solution are supplied to a smoke washer 4, hydrogen chloride and a sulfur oxide are reacted with caustic soda, and exhaust gas, whose harmful objects are dissolved and removed, is discharged from an outlet 5. Brine containing the harmful objects is forwarded to a brine purifying installation 7, and ion components of every kind are removed by precipitation by reactions by calcium chloride, sodium carbonate, caustic soda, etc. and chelate resin and the like. The brine after purifying it is fed to a diaphragm type electrolytic cell 9, chlorine gas is formed at an anode chamber 10 and a caustic soda water solution at a cathode chamber 11, the caustic soda water solution is circulated and supplied to the smoke washer 4, and the chlorine gas is fed to a device such as a sodium hypochlorite manufacturing device 14 for example.
