Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent useless plating action and to improve the electric current efficiency, by providing the current supply ring, contact electrode and counter current obstruction apparatus, etc. on the inner and outer circumference face of rotating drum at a fixed position and turning on required current only when the material to be processed is contacted with the inner contact electrode.
CONSTITUTION: Current supply method of drum type plating apparatus putting the metallic material to be plated in the drum 2 rotating in the plating vessel 1, is improved by this method. That is, plural number of the current supply rings 4a, 4b... divided on the outer circumference of the drum 2, are provided and the plural number of contact electrodes 6a, 6b... corresponding to the above rings 4a..., extending in the longish direction of inner face, are provided. It is constructed that necessary current is turned on from the ring 4a... selectively at an effective action time only contacting the metallic material to be plated with the above contact electrodes 6a... and at the same time counter current obstruction apparatuses 5a, 5b... obstructing current supply for another current supply unit ring, are provided. Thus, useless plating action is eliminated and loss of electric power is prevented.
