Abstract

PURPOSE: To considerably improve the workability of the steel plate through annealing of a short time by performing the subsequent continuous annealing under the specific contorlled conditions at the time of producing the low carbon steel plate through hot rolling and cold rolling.
CONSTITUTION: At the time of producing the low carbon steel sheet used for automotive bodies, etc. through hot rolling, cold rolling and annealing, its crystal grains are made as large as possible and carbides are precipitated at the grain boundaries to reduce the solid-solution C amount as far as possible in continuous annealing for improving its workability. To this end, it is rapidly heated at a heating rate of 40°C/sec in the range of 600° to annealing temperature during annealing. Here, it is so heated that the annealing temperature T°C becomes between 700°C to A3 transformation point and the annealing time t second becomes [10-0.03(T-680)]W [50-0.15(T-360)]. After the annealing, it is slow cooled at a cooling rate of 50°C/sec or less initially and it is rapidly cooled down to over aging temperature at 50°C/sec or more from the temperature TQ°C of 600°CW[T-0.027(T-680) (t1/2+23.7)]°C on the way, after which it is subjected to over aging treatment of 10secW2min at 300W500°C.
