Abstract

PURPOSE: To realize the flaw detection for several ropes at one time by providing several pierced holes to the pole piece.
CONSTITUTION: Plural number of pierced hole H are provided to each of a set of pole pieces 4a comprising pieces 4a1 and 4a2 of the fixed side plus 4b1 and 4b2 of detachable side each. Then plural number of running ropes 1 which are the test objects are inserted into each hole H. Thus the magnetic force of exciter 2 is distributed evenly to ropes 1 through hole H of piece 4a, and furthermore the cross- sectional space area has no change between hole H and rope 1 regardless of the vibrating direction as long as rope 1 moves within hole H althrough rope 1 may have vibrations. Accordingly, no change occurs to the density of the magnetic flux within rope 1. As a result, several ropes 1 are excited simultaneously with the contant magnetic flux density of each rope 1, thus ensuring the high-accuracy measurement and detection for the disconnection, corrosion, wear and others of the strand of plural number of rope 1.
