Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the weight of a counter shaft of a transmission gear and to facilitate the lubricating hole processing and the gear accuracy adjusting procedure by forming the counter shaft from a pipe material and fixing gears on the shaft.
CONSTITUTION: A pipe is rolled to form a counter shaft 6. A large diameter part 37, middle diameter parts 38 and 39, and small diameter parts 40 and 41 are formed at the central part, on each side of the central part, and on each end of the counter shaft 6 respectively. The counter shaft 6 is supported on the case 1 through bearings 12 fitted on the small diameter parts 40 and 41. A counter gear 14 is fixed to the middle diameter part 38 by force-fitting or electronic beam welding. Gears 21, 22 and 23 are fixed to the large diameter part 37, and middle diameter part 39 respectively in the similar manner. An overdrive gear 24 is slidably fitted on the counter shaft 6. Lubricating oil holes 43, 44, 45 and 46 are connected to the tooth bottoms of the gears 14, 21, 22, and 23 respectively.
