Abstract
PURPOSE:The captioned remover which is so arranged as to be able to effectively remove slag by dipping a slag capturing pipe having a wide opening attached to a pressure-reduceable slag containing tank to the ladle and suction-removing the slag. CONSTITUTION:The slag remover is hoitsted down by a crane or the like into a ladle 101 placed in the specified position and is dipped in molten metal 102 to the extent that the circular cone shape part of the slag capturing pipe A sinks just within the molten metal 102. Here, exhaust is started through exhaust port 4 when the slag capturing pipe A comes right above the slag floating on the molten metal. This is continued until the level of the molten metal reaches near the top end of the suction pipe 108. During this time, the slag in the ladle is pushed up to the molten metal and is sucked into the slag containing tank B. The suction pipe 108 protrudes by penetrating upward the bottom of the slag containing tank B, by which back flow of the slag again into the ladle 101 is prevented.
