Abstract

PURPOSE: To accurately measure magnetic flux density of operating point at a desired permeance factor by a method wherein a thin magnet to be measured is made to firmly contact a spaser of high permeability and unified the variations in magnetic flux density on the surface of magnet itself to uniform level.
CONSTITUTION: A magnet 11 to be measured and yoke form a magnetic circuit in which a gap 12 is formed. Between this gap 12 and the magnet 11, a spacer 9 is spaced so as to contact the magnet 11. The spacer 9 is of high permeability material and has size the same as or slightly larger than the magnet 11, with thickness smaller than the magnet 11. Thus, the magnet 11 is held by pole 7 and the spacer 9 so that both parallel faces firmly contact them. Then, specific pulse current is passed through magnetization coil 13 to cause the magnet 11 to be magnetized to saturation. Magnetic flux density within the gap 12 is measured by hole element inserted in the gap 12 and gauss meter. the magnet 11, after measurement, can be removed by rotating nut 14 and by moving the pole 7 upward.
