Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance sintering property by a method wherein powder substance with inferior sintering property is mixed within a liquid with no oxygen donating property and ground or subjected to surface purification by utilizing supersonic vibration to expose active surface.
CONSTITUTION: Crudely ground powder 2 of a stock material having inferior sintering property originally such as samarium group, ferrite group, graphite group material or the like is introduced into a container 1 along with a substance with no oxygen donating property such as trichlene or the like. This mixture is sufficiently mixed by a stirrer 10 and flowed into a bore 3A of a supersonic vibration horn 14. A vibrating element 7 is provided at a top portion of a vibration horn 14 to generate supersonic vibration. The above described mixture is passed through a bore 3A of a vibration horn 14 and supplied to a space 12A between a grinding disc 5 and a lower end 4 of a vibration horn 14 from an outlet 3B and ground by supersonic vibration in a condition enclosed by trichlene. This ground mixture is supplied into a sintering mold 13 through a hopper 11 and, after pressed by a press mold 16, sintered by applying magnetic field with 100 kilooersted. Thereby, a surface of the powder is activated and high density sintered powder is obtained.
