Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a cake capable of regenerating glass staple fibers and effectively utilizing them in many fields by splitting a recovered inorg. staple fiber-contg. substance in water; dispersing the split substance; and continuously taking out an inorg. fiber cake in a belt state from a dehydrator.
CONSTITUTION: Water is charged into tank 11 of splitting unit 10, and main rotor 12 is rotated in the arrow direction, whereby water wheel 13 is moved, and by the action of rotor 12 and wheel 13 a water current is formed. When a substance contg. glass staple fibers to be recovered is charged into the current, split of the substance is accelerated by frictional resistance, etc. between the blades of rotor 12 and the water and between the water and the glass staple fibers due to a water velocity gradient. After the split, by feeding glass staple fiber slurry 1 in the arrow direction filter cloths 211, 212 continuously form a vertically opening bag, and filtration action is brought about owing to the head press. of slurry 1 to facilitate concn. of slurry 1 with progress of the cloths. The resulting inorg. staple fiber cake is taken out as product 2 having predetermined width, thickness and water or adhesive content in a belt state.
