Abstract

PURPOSE: In a heat exchanger anticorrosion device using an external power source, to improve anticorrosion effect by fitting an iron electrode as an anode, fitting a device for controlling the amount of iron ions generated from the electrode, and effectively adding the ions to a cooling water.
CONSTITUTION: An anticorrosion device uses the cooling pipe 6 of a heat exchanger 1 as a cathode and an iron electrode 3 as an anode, and conducts electrolysis to generate iron ions. A constant-voltage electrolyzer 2 comprises a reference electrode to detect the potential of the heat exchanger 1, and controls the current from the iron electrode 3 to the heat exchanger 1 so as to keep the potential constant. The electrolizer 2, anode, and cathod are electrically connected by conductors 5. Effective addition of iron ions to the cooling water improves largely the anticorrosion effect.
