Abstract

PURPOSE: To control the entire operation of switching regulator by operating one of a plurality of control circuits with the differential voltage between the feedback voltage and the referential voltage by means of same control circuit irrespective of the type of power source, polarity, output voltage, etc..
CONSTITUTION: The control circuit for the switching regulator is comprised of saw- tooth wave oscillator 7, pulse width modulator 6 for determining the on-time ratio δ of the switching transistor, differential amplifier 8 for amplifying the differential voltage between the feedback voltage EFB and the differntial voltage EREF, protective circuit 10 for stopping the output voltage EO by means of overload current detecting voltage Eoc thus to protect the load and the power source equipment. When the difference between the referential voltage EREF and the feedback voltage EFB exceeded over predetermined level by means of second control circuit 13, said output voltage Ec2 is used to control the on-time ratio δ.
