Abstract

PURPOSE: To detect the absolute value of current and integrate the circuit easily, by composing a simple constitution with two conductive transistors and one diode.
CONSTITUTION: When a diode 5 and a transistor 3, being matched with each other, work to make the forward voltage of the diode 5 equal to the base-emitter voltage of the transistor 3, the current flowing in the diode 5 is equal to the emitter current of the transistor 3. When the current flows out of a terminal 2, a transistor 4 is reversely biased, so that no current flows thereto. Therefore, the current flowing through the diode 5 from a reference voltage generating source 7 connected to a terminal 1 and s small base current of the transistor 3 are combined together to flow out of the terminal 2. As s result, a current equal to the remainder of the current flowing out of the terminal 2 minus double of the base current of the transistor 3 will be taken out of the collector of the transistor 3. Thus, the current equal to the absolute value of the current flowing in the terminal 2 may be taken out from a terminal 6.
