PURPOSE:To let cassette be released to outside of the apparatus during turning operation of elevating device by providing the elevating device which is placed with the cassette and moves upward or downsard while maintaining nearlt a horizontal state. CONSTITUTION:A crank pin 32 causes a crank arm 33 to turn countercloskwise, which in turn pushes up a pressing arm 40 in the direction opposite from the arrow A via crank lever 36. This releases pressing with a roller 42. Along with this, a cassette holder is turned counterclockwise about holder shaft 6 by the force of a spring, causing the cassette cardle moves upward by maintaining nearly level. As turning of a crank gear 30 and crank arm 33 progress, the end part of the oblong hole of an eject bar 45 abuts against a pin 47. Then a cassette cover 18 turns and at nearly the upper dead point of turning of the crank pin 32 the cassette slips down from the cassette cradle.
