Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent charging which becomes cause for various troubles in tape characteristics for magnetic recording and eliminate the disadvantages that conventional antistatic methods have by using metal fine particles of Ni or Cu as an antistatic agent.
CONSTITUTION: The magnetic coating wherein metal fine particles of Ni or Cu of less than 1000Å formed by a chemical reduction or vacuum evaporation process are added at 1/2 to 1/4 of structure carbon black of developed chain structure of fine particles which are considered good of conductivity or carbon black of hollow shell form particle form wherein fine particulate carbons have aggregated is coated on a substrate. As a result, the decrease in sensitivity of low frequency region, MOL (the difference between distortion to input current and output, i.e., magnitude of dynamic range), S/N, etc. is not observed.
