Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce a speaker having high efficiency and high amplitude operations by composing a dynamic speaker and a piezoelectric speaker in a manner to obtain multiplied operations. CONSTITUTION:A diaphragm 11 is made of a piezoelectric film 12 of such a bimorph construction as has piezoelectric films 12a and 12b of polyvinilidene fluoride of opposite polarizing directions adhered to each other. An audio current is fed to the coil conductor 13 of the film 12, and a voltage according to the audio signals is impressed between the conductor 13 and a whole surface electrode 14. A magnetic field is applied to the conductor 14 in the direction generally perpendicular to the conductor 13 by the magnets 15, which are mounted in a magnetic plate 17 and which have their same poles facing each other through the diaphragm 11, so that the force and direction resulting from the interactions between the current flowing through the conductor 13 and the magnetic field become coincident to effect the multiplied actions. By composing the dynamic type whole surface drive speaker and a piezoelectric speaker, the diaphragm 11 can have high amplitude vibrations to provide a highly efficient speaker.
