Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare an organic halogen compound useful as a raw material of fine chemicals, especially a raw material for the syntheses of medicines, efficiently by the halogenation of an easily available hexacoordinate Si compound.
CONSTITUTION: Organic halides are prepared by halogenating Si compounds of K2 [RSiF5] (R is substituted or unsubstituted monovalent hydrocarbon residue), e.g. K2[n-C8H17SiF5]. K2[n-C12H25SiF5], etc., at -30 -100°C in the presence or absence of a solvent, using halogen, such as C1 or Br, or a hlogenating agent such as N- bromosuccinic imide. The molar ratio of the halogen, etc. to the Si compound is 1 2 to 1.
