Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve C/N (the ratio of signals to noise) by making phases of two PSK demodulating carriers in-phase in a PSK demodulator for quadruple diversity receiving. CONSTITUTION:Two signals which were subjected to frequency diversity are converted to the first intermediate frequency of the same frequency and are synthesized in the same phase to become signals fic and f'ic. Synthesized signal fic becomes the second intermediate frequency signal fica in mixer 10 by oscillated signals of VCO 19, and meanwhile, synthesized signal f'ic is mixed with the signal of local oscillator 16 in mixer 10' and becomes the second intermediate frequency signal. Two second intermediate frequency signals are applied to phase detector 17, and the difference between two signals is detected to feed back the detection signal to VCO 19, and both signals are made in-phase. Both in-phase signals are applied to carrier synthesizer 18 and become carriers applied to PSK demodulators 14 and 14'. Output data signals of demodulators 14 and 14' are sunthesized in combiner 15, thereby constituting a quadruple diversity system.
