Abstract

PURPOSE: To realize utilization for a projective type picture display unit, etc., with no needs of scanning in vacuum space and of applying a high voltage, by displaying a picture by allowing an invisible ray (ultravilot ray) to scan on a screen with visible-ray fluorescent substances arranged.
CONSTITUTION: Screen 2 is provided with three kinds of striped visible-ray fluorescent substances R, G and B luminescing in respective hues of red, green and blue by being excited by ultraviolet-ray beam UV and stiped reflecting method 6 for ultraviolet light. Then, UV strikes method 6, the reflected invisible ultraviolet light return in its original direction (solid line 11), and an index signal (used as a color synchronizing signal) obtained as a photo detection output by way of half- mirror 4 and photoelectric doubling tube 12 is supplied to driver circuit 13. In this way, primary-color fluorescent substances R, G and B are excited by UV color- synchronizing together and allowed to luminesce in respective hues, so that a fixed color picture will be projected.
