Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the after-burning of an exhaust purifier, by introducing secondary air, which feed to an exhaust passage is cut, to a suction passage when using engine brake, in a controller of secondary air utilized for purifying exhaust from an engine.
CONSTITUTION: When decelerating a car by engine brake, the opening of a throttle valve 6 is small, and intake negative pressure at an extracting port 15 becomes high. The negative pressure instantaneously works on a chamber D of a change-over valve 20, but slowly acts on a chamber E by a delay valve 56. Consequently, a valve 39 opens by the fall of a diaphragm 35 at the beginning of deceleration, secondary air entering a pipe 28 from the outside air is introduced 11 to an exhaust pipe 8 of an engine 1 up to that time, but it is introduced to an intake pipe 2 from a pipe 26 and dilutes over-concentrated mixture by fuel evaporated onto a suction pipe wall, thus preventing the after-burning of an exhaust gas purifier 9.
