Abstract

PURPOSE: To remove continuously water drops or frost that can increase the ventilation resistance without interruption the cooling operation of a heat exchanger, by using an endless passage filled with many balls movable made of material having a high heat transfer rate.
CONSTITUTION: Many balls 10 made of material with a good heat transfer rate move around rubbing with each other in a endless passage 9 and reach a heat exchanger unit 15, being cooled while passing through an evaporator 13. Heat is then exchanged with air fed by a fan 7 through a grid 14 and cools air discharged from the passage 9. The water content in the air adheres to the surface of the balls 10 at the time of heat exchange to become water drops or frost. The water drops or frost are separated from the balls 10 as the balls move and fall into a pan 18 through a grid 16 as the balls 10 pass through a separating unit 17. The water content is then heated by a heater 19 and the drain is exhausted through an exhaust pipe 20.
