Abstract
PURPOSE: To achieve the improvement in separating performance and prevent damaging of photosensitive drum and flying of toner by turning plural separating pawls respectively independently by way of corresponding springs and letting them pressure contact to the peripheral surface of the drum only when necessary.
CONSTITUTION: A control shaft 29 is oscillated by turning of the actuating lever 34 by a cam 37 which turns integrally with a photosensitive drum 1. This causes a plurality of separating pawls 3... turnable to the shaft 5 to be turned independently respectively by means of corresponding springs 31.... Only at the moment when copying paper 2 arrives at the separating position, they are pressure contacted to the peripheral surface of the drum 1 and the copying paper 2 is separated from the drum 1. The separation defect of the copying paper 2 occuring in the misalignment of the end parts of a plurality of the pawls 3... is prevented by the independent of said respectively independent springs and the variations of the strokes of the pawls 3 are also absorbed, thus stable separation is accomplished. Even in case any load is applied to the pawls 3..., it is cushioned by the springs 31..., thus no damages are produced on the surface of the drum 1. Flying of the toner from the drum 1 is prevented by adjusting the clearance between the pawls 3... and the drum 1 at the non-contact time.
