Abstract
PURPOSE: The titled pipe expander which need not rotate the flare forming jig usual usually rotated in the conventional expander, by installing the first and second expanders for simultaneously performing many of flare-expanding-works at the pipe ends, while both ends of the straight pipe are being clamped.
CONSTITUTION: Both ends of the pipe 1 are clamped by the clamp 7, and the first expander ram 8 is moved from both ends so as to push forward the first expansion forming pin 9 into both ends of the pipe 1 for performing the first forming work; after that, the first forming pin 9 is stopped at the end point of the push-forward action. Next, the second expansion forming pin 11 is pushed forward by the second expander ram 10. Hereupon, many of flares at the joint portions of U-pipe are simultaneously formed at both ends of the pipe 1 as illustrated, while the slip-out buckling is being prevented by the construction in which the pin 9 is inserted as the guide bar into the internal hole of the pin 11.
