Abstract

PURPOSE: To construct an electrophotographic photoreceptor of high sensitivity, by forming a charge transfer layer consisting mainly of a specified charge transfer substance and a charge generating layer on a conductive substrate.
CONSTITUTION: An about 5 μ or less thick charge generating layer mainly containing a charge generating substance, such as Se or an azoxybenzene tupe pigment, and an about 10W100 μ thick charge transfer layer using as a charge transfer substance a compound to be used for electrophotographic photoconductor are laminated on a conductive substrate, such as an aluminum vapor deposited polyester film to form an electrophotographic photoreceptor. The compound is represented by the formula in which R is alkyl, aralkyl, styryl, p-dialkyaminostyryl, substitutable phenyl, 2- furfuryl, 2-pyridyl, or 3-carbazolyl; and X and Y are H or halogen.
