Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an easy dehydrating treatment by setting froth retaining time longer than specified value of layer thickness to thereby stabilize the accumulation of froth.
CONSTITUTION: Solid in sludge is adhered to fine bubbles generated upon reduction of pressure in gas solved pressure water to be thus floated and to be accumulated as froth. The froth is gradually scraped to be removed by a floating concentration process. The thickness of the froth layer is retained thicker than 500mm, and the scraping frequency of the froth is set to once per hour to once per 24 hours to stabilize the accumulation of the froth. Then, gas solid ratio is set higher than 15 liter air/kg solid as shown in graphs to thereby obtain stable froth concentration. High froth cencentration can be obtained when the solid load is less than 120kg solid/m2 day is as shown in the graph.
