PURPOSE:To perform positioning of magnetic heads accurately by making the leakage rates of magnetic fluxes from adjoining tracks constant on the outer side and inner side of a magnetic disc. CONSTITUTION:Intertrack spacing zones are classified to 3 kinds, outer-, center- and inner track zones 6 thru 8 and the spacings between the tracks 5 are so set as to be subsequently narrowed from the outer to the center and inner ones. Servo information is beforehand set in this way and in the case of recording, a linear motor, etc. for moving magnetic heads for servo recording are controlled. Thereby, positioning of the magnetic heads may be accurately performed.
