Abstract

PURPOSE: To execute sufficiently exact conveying operation of a vacuum attracting conveying apparatus even if capacity of vacuum generator is low by opening or closing vacuum attracting holes exposed in response to the width of conveying sheet by an attracting hole opening and closing unit to thereby eliminate attracting loss.
CONSTITUTION: When a sheet of small width is conveyed on a vacuum attracting conveying apparatus for conveying the sheet via conveyor belt 6 while attracting the sheet via attracting holes 4 perforated at a hollow member 3, a shield plate 9 is horizontally slid upon energization of a solenoid 11, and openings 12 are displaced from the holes 4 to thereby close the holes 4. Accordingly, the holes 4 for attracting air are perforated within the width of the sheet to thereby eliminate the loss of exposed holes 4. Thus, the capacity of the vacuum generating fan 7 may not be so large in capacity.
