Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the linearity of acoustic characteristics by proventing the axis of a vibrating system such as a voice coil from being inclined by the contact with the surface having a low coefficient of friction. CONSTITUTION:A voice coil 4 is equipped with coating films 8 to 10, of which the films 8 and 9 are in surface contact with a center pole 1 and a plate 2 in a low coefficient of friction. The coil 4 is held by the center pole 1, the plate 2 and a conical diaphragm 3 at its edge such that no inclination takes place in the axis of the vibrating system. As a result, a damper 5 is dispensed with to prevent the nonlinear strain due to the damper 5 so that the acoustic characteristics can be improved. Incidentally, similar results can be obtained in the case of the dome- shaped acoustic converter. Moreover, similar results can also be obtained if the voice coil is not coated but magnetized.
