PURPOSE:To obtain a driving method of focus position controlling suitable for large volume production by securing an optical system to a leaf spring and providing a driving device of exerting deflecting force and couple of forces to the leaf spring. CONSTITUTION:A lens-barrel 12 disposed with an optical system such as focusing lens, semi-transparent mirror, photo detector, etc. is secured to a square frame form leaf spring 23. On the other hand, electrostrictive elements 24 are so mounted to both sides of the opposing two sides of the leaf spring 23 that their elongations and contractions become mutually opposite. The leaf spring 23 is driven by these elements 24 and the focus of the read optical system is positioned in the central part on track on the plane of an information structural body. Thereby, the driving method of focus position control suitable for large volume production may be obtained.
