Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture reduced pellets as well from dust, by equipping the apparatus for manufacturing oxidized pellets from iron ore by grate kiln system with a few additional apparatus.
CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for manufacturing pellets by grate kiln system is equipped with an exhaust gas-treating circuit 24 connecting an exhaust gas outlet 6c installed at the preheating chamber 6 for grate 1 to the second electric precipitator 18. Heat energy within the preheating chamber 6 is withdrawn as the exhaust gas in the preheating chamber 6, simultaneously the dust contained in the exhaust gas is separated and recovered by the second electric precipitator 18. To the preheating chamber 6 side of the exhaust-gas-treating circuit 24 is connected a cold air-blowing apparatus, e.g., a cold air fan, through a valve V1, and on the way of the circuit 24 is installed a quenching tower 26 for cooling the exahust gas and at this side of the precipitator 18 is installed a valve V2 for opening or closing the exahust-gas-treating circuit 24. The tertiary shoot 12 is equipped in it with a branched shoot 28 which serves as a way for recovering reduced pellets. The reduced pellets recovered in the branched shoot 28 is led to a conveyor 29 which is cooled with water.
