Abstract

PURPOSE: A device for irradiation with ultraviolet rays in which the means for holding substrates to be irradiated and the source of ultraviolet rays are provided at both focuses of ellipsoid of revolution for light-reflecting surface, whereby ultravoilet curable coating or ink apllied to small parts such as electronic parts is advantageously cured using a simple device with high efficiency of ultraviolet ray irradiation.
CONSTITUTION: The device for ultraviolet ray irradiation has a prescribed length along the direction in which the substrate to be irradiated is arranged and the light reflecting means is composed of one or a combination of plural ellipsoids of revolution at the cross section perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the device. In the case where the refelecting means is composed of one ellipsoid a, the source of ultraviolet rays is positioned on the one focus F1 and the means for holding substrates is placed on or near the other focus F2. When two ellipsoid are combined, focus F1 is made the common focus and the source of ultraviolet rarys is placed on F1 and two substrates are positioned on other focuses F2, and F3 respectively.
