Abstract

PURPOSE: The reaction product from phthalic anhydride and an α-isocyanoacetate ester is, directly or after hydrolysis with an alkali, hydrolyzed with an acid to produce through simple processes title compound useful as an intermediate for synthesizing medicines and agricultural chemicals.
