Abstract

PURPOSE: To automatically perform the operation of winding a magnetic tape to a take-up reel which is most laborious in loading operation by making use of suction action of vacuum and reduce the rise of cost as far as possible.
CONSTITUTION: When a push-button 11 is pushed, current flows in solenoid 22, which in turn attracts a plunger 28 in the arrow direction, thereby causing a shield block 26 to open in the arrow direction and permitting easy passage of a magnetic tape 27. At the same time, power source for a vacuum blower is turned on to supply vacuum pressure to an air chamber 38 via tube 39. Next, a feed tape reel 12 is mounted to a reel holding mechanism 13 and the magnetic tape is led to a reel 18 to be approached to the suction holes 37 of an intermediate ring 34 so that it is sucked by the vacuum pressure. As the suction holes 37 are closed by the suction of the magnetic tape, the air pressure in the air chamber 38 changes and this change is detected by a suction detection circuit 40, which in turn generates a signal. This signal causes a take-up motor 31 to run to slightly wound the magnetic tape so that all of the four suction holes 37 are closed and the tape is prevented from detaching. At the same time, suction ports 20, 20' are opened and a vacuum pressure is supplied to vacuum columns 19, 19', whereby the loop of the tape is created.
