Abstract
PURPOSE: T prepare the title compound useful as a dehydration condensation reagent, reactive reagent, etc., easily, by the heat decarbonation of cyclohexyl isocyanate using an oxide or chloride of W or V as catalyst.
CONSTITUTION: The title compound is prepared by the heat decarbonation of cyclohexyl isocyanate (CHI) using 0.1-20 wt%, pref. 1-5 wt% based on CHI, of a catalyst selected from tungsten oxide such as tungsten trioxide, tungstic acid, sodium tungstate etc., tungsten chloride such as tungsten dichloride, vanadium oxide such as vanadium pentoxide, vanadic acid (HVO3), etc., and vanadium chloride such as vanadium dichloride, etc., and heating at 100-300°C, pref. 150- 250°C, for 1-20 hours.
EFFECT: The catalyst is easily available, and completely separated from the product by distillation.
