Abstract

PURPOSE:A needle electrode is provided so as to peep out of a hole which is equipped on the closed end of a coating gun in the directionof the center shaft, thus applying high voltage to the needle electrode and permitting electrostatic powder coating with uniform thickness on substrates. CONSTITUTION:Electrostatic powder coating gun 1 has the main part 2 to which powder coatings and air are supplied and at least the top end 3 is made of an electrically insulation meterial and shaped in closed form. Hole 5 is provided on the top end 3 of gun main part 2 in the direction of the center shaft and needle elecdtrode 8 is equipped in hole 5 so as to peep out of it. A high voltage of direct current is applied to the needle electrode and a plurality of nozzles 6 are bored around hole 5, thus powder coating jetted from nozzles if uniformly charged by high voltage electricity on needle electrode and sprayed uniformly over a wide range of area.
