Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the load of CPU by operating channel units under the microprogram control and not informing CPU of time over state occurrence except a special case in the group polling to a terminal equipment.
CONSTITUTION: CPU1, main memory 2, channel unit 4 and one or plural sub- channel units 5-0 to 5-m connected to unit 4 are provided, and terminal equipments 13-0 to 13-n are connected to units 5-0 to 5-m respectively through main storage 12. Then, CPU1 transmits a command including group polling to equipments 13-0 to 13-n and cheaks the presence of the response from equipments 13-0 to 13-n and checks the preswnce of the response from equipments 13-0 to 13-n by time supervision. In this communication control system, unit 4 is provided with micro- processor 6, control memory 7, main storage 8 and sub-interface 9, and unit 4 transmits a polling command spontaneously; and when response detection has been time-over by time supervision, the command is transmitted to equipments 13-0 to 13-n.
