Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a heat-exchanger whose heat-exchange efficiency is improved by furnishing in the vicinity of the boundary portion between the low and high temperature sides in a heat pipe a swirl for letting liquefied heat medium turn.
CONSTITUTION: In an heat-exchanger, the inside of the shell constituting heat- exchanger body 8 in two, and thus-obtained upper part as low-temperature side and lower part as high-temperature side are intercommunicated by a heat pipe 1 in which heat medium is sealed. A swirl 2 (swirl current generating member) made by forming a number of pleats consisting of projections 6 and depressions 7 on the outer surface of a hollow tapered tube 11 is provided at the boundary portion between the low and high temperature sides in said heat pipe 1. Thereby, heat-exchange surface can be expanded since condensed heat medium in said heat pie 1 passes through the space formed of the wall of said pipe 1 and said swirl 2, i.e. flows down turning over the whole inner circumference of said pipe and diffusing.
