Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare a flame retardant foamed styrene resin molded article having excellent extrusion-moldability, foamablility, flame retardancy, and heat insulating properties, by the extrusion foaming of styrene resin containing a halogen-containing flane retardant, a foaming agent, and an inorganic orthophosphate.
CONSTITUTION: A resin composition composed of (A) 100 parts by weight of a styrene resin having an MI of 0.3W60g/10 min., (B) 0.5W10 parts by weight of a halogen-containing flame retardant, (C) 1W30 parts by weight of an evaporation- type foaming agent having a boiling point of -60 - +90°C at atmospheric pressure, and (D) ≥0.5wt%, based on the B component, of an inorganic orthophosphate selected from mono-, di- or tri-basic sodium orthophosphate and mono-, di- or tri-basic potassium orthophosphate, is kneaded in an extruder at 100W220°C under a pressure of 50W250kg/cm2, and the mixture is cooled to 80W150°C, and extruded under a pressure of 20W90kg/cm2 to a low pressure atmosphere.
