CONSTITUTION: A filter used at the time of producing polyester from terephthalic acid and/or dimethylterephthalate and alkylene glycol as main raw materials or molding the polyester is regenerated as follows; it is first dipped in a soln. of glycol or alkali metal hydroxide such as NaOH and then brought into direct contact with an ultrasonic generating face having a capacity above 5, esp. above 10 W/cm2 in such a state that the filter is being dipped in the above soln., other soln. or water. Thus, the filter is regenerated.
