Abstract
PURPOSE: A base material of polycarbonate is laminated with an acrylic or vinyl chloride copolymer film containing an ultraviolet absorber and they ae corrugated to produce title corrugated sheet with light weight, high impact strength, toughness and clarity.
CONSTITUTION: A polycarbonate of 20000 W 40000 average molecular weight is extruded from an extruder through a die for sheet forming to form polycarbonate sheets, which are nipped with 2 or more rolls adjusted in temperature to 150 W 200° C and pressed. During the molten sheet keeps rubber-like viscoelasticity, films of acrylic or vinyl chloride copolymer containing 1.0 W 8.0wt% of an ultraviole absorber, which is formed by casting and 30 W 80 micron in thickness, are laminated on the one or both surfaces of the molten sheet and then they are nipped with a pair of corrugated rolls adjusted to a temperature below the glass transition point of polycarbonate and pressed with 1 kg/cm2 or higher pressure to form corrugate pattern, thus producing corrugated sheets of polycarbonate laminate with 85% or higher transmittance and 1.5mm or less thickness
