Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate the breakdown of coil insulating layers, by forming the unit coil through firstly winding a coil wire regularly in a concentric configuration then causing a surface direction controlling tool to be in a planar stafte.
CONSTITUTION: On the peripheral surface of a radial direction controlling tool 1 there is provided a surface direction controlling tool 2 which can selectively be in one of two state, in one state of which the tool 2 has a plane form perpendicular to said peripheral surface and in the other state the tool 2 has a conical surface form inclined by a small angle from said plane form. After the coil wire 3 is regularly wound on the tool 2 in a concentric configuration, the tool 2 is caused to be in the planar state to transform the coil winding structure 4 into the plane form from the conical surface form. Then the winding structure 4 is fastened to provide a unit coil, and these unit cails are disposed in an annular configuration with successive displacements between them. Thus, planar unit coils aligned in one surface direction and regularly wound in concentric configurations can be formed without breaking down of coil insulating layers, so that by using these unit coils the thickness of the flat winding structure can be reduced since respective unit coils are aligned in one surface direction
