PURPOSE:To remove chromium containd in an aq. org. acid soln. contg. org. acid of a concn. not higher than 95% rapidly and efficiently, by treating the chromium with cation exchange resin at a specific temp. or higher. CONSTITUTION:An aq. soln. of an org. acid (e.g., acetic acid) of a concn. not higher than 95%, pref. not higher than 85%, contg. chromium (e.g., chromium acetate) is brought into contact with a cation exchange resin (e.g., strongly acidic cation exchange resin ) so as to adsorb and remove chromium. The contact is carried out at 55 deg.C or higher, pref. 70 deg.C or higher, thereby, exchange rate for chromium ion is increased remarkably, at the same time, exchanging amount is increased and chromium-removing effect is improved.
