Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the pressure resisting strength and to reduce the thermal stress of an insulating spacer by engaging a metal ring with a spacer insulator through ruggednesses and forming small gap therebetween due to shrinkage of charged resin therebetween at hardening time so as to thereby prevent local shrinkage.
CONSTITUTION: The recesses 31 of a metal ring 21 are engaged with projections 32 of a spacer insulator 22 at the connected portions of the ring 21 and the insulator 22. The ring 21 is integrally molded in the step of forming the spacer 10. Since the insulator 22 is slightly shrinked after thermal hardening, radial and axial small gaps 33, 33' and 34, 34' between the recesses 31 and projections 32 at the connected portions take place therebetween. The ring 21 and the insulator 22 are mechanically separated to thereby provide free support at the outer periphery of the insulator 22 as compared with the conventional restricting supporting conditions. Accordingly, it can improve the pressure resisting strength and reduce the thermal stress so as to enhance the reliability of the spacer
