Abstract

PURPOSE:A ignition timing control equipment to take out the engine torque effectively, detecting knocking of the engine, permitting to advance the ignition timing of the engine immediately before the limited ignition timing which knocking results. CONSTITUTION:This ignition timing control equipment contains cooling water temperature sensor 5 to detect engine temperature and means to judge whether there is knocking or not, the means to judge inputs the output from vibraion detecting sensor 10 to detect engine vibration, comparing the actual value with average value of output of above sensor 10 at period corresponded to prescribed crank angle around the top dead center of every engine cylinder, a judging circuit 9 to fudge that results in knocking when the ratio of the actual value to the average value is more than the certain value is provided, the equipment is constructed to control the ignition timing to the limitted period which results in knocking with ignition angle setting circuit 11 in accordance with the signal from the judging means.
