PURPOSE:To make traffic characteristics excellent by forming two kind of time- division channels in a double mode within the range that an applied traffic load does not exceed a prescribed blocking rate, and a perfectly-unblocked time-division channel only when the load exceeds the allowable blocking rate. CONSTITUTION:In this case, time seitches M1...M16 possess two input highway terminals of multiplicity 256 and one output highway terminal of multiplicity 512, and outputs of switches M1...M16 are led to two space switches SWMT of multiplicity 512, whose outputs are supplied to time switches M'1...M'16. Namely, this system consists of two kind of time-division channels as the same channel formation and two kind of time-division channels form a perfectly-unblocked time-division switching circuit wholly. Then, when the applied traffic load is below a prescribed internal blocking rate, two kind of time-division channels are operated in a double mode and when above the allowable blocking rate, they are operated as the perfectly-unblocked time division channel, thereby obtaining excellent traffic characteristics.
